Wheatstone Consulting is a vendor agnostic consulting firm. As well as
specialising in the deployment of mobile computing and communication
technologies to large enterprises, we play an active part in the development of
the whole industry.
Mobile Data Association
Wheatstone founder, Peter George,
served on the Executive Board of the Mobile Data Association for over a decade . As well
as leading the association’s initiatives on mobile data applications and Mobile
Broadband technologies, Wheatstone Consulting is the
publisher of Mobile Data News, the official online newsletter of the MDA.
Wheatstone also wrote the MDA
Professional Texters Report in 2002 and a series of Mobile Data Mini Directories working with the Association.

Wheatstone Consulting was a member of
ETSI during critical phases of 3G and mobile commerce standards development.

Open Mobile Alliance (SyncML)
As founder supporters of the SyncML
Initiative, we worked alongside Doug Heintzman, SyncMLs first Chair, to scope
out the requirements and scenarios for peer to peer synchronisation.

Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF)
Wheatstone consultants worked with
members of the DMTF throughout 2002/3 to specify and document the mobile
elements of the Common Information Model (CIM) and Web-Based Enterprise
Management (WBEM).

Personal Computer and Communications Association (PCCA)
In February 2003, Wheatstone
consulting facilitated a meeting of the PCCA in San Francisco, CA at which were
held the final compatibility tests of Intel’s Centrino technology with
involvement from over a dozen vendors.
